Our Calm Euporia

And there she was...
Like a vulture staring down,
with eyes that glimmer
brighter than the stars
in the night sky.

She was ready to attack!

We made our fast-exit
and quickly sat alone
juxtaposed
by the poolside.

Yeah we talked politics
and we talked on current events
but her voice
her voice began to crack

We were drunk.
And in our calm euphoria
We were in love.

What if though,
this girl
is not supposed to be
the woman of my dreams?

What if she was only an illusion;
an artifact that presents itself
so firm while people watch
then crumbles when faced
with solidity?

The conversation shifted
and she began to escalate herself
onto my chair
pushing her body
closer and closer
and closer

In that moment
she started to cry
and without any regard
she kissed me.

We held hands
then made our way
back to her apartment.
It was dark. Cold.
Quiet from what I remember.

I staggered into the restroom
to take a piss, only to notice
that she had followed me in
taunting, hissing-

hissing like the snake in the garden
persuading me to bite the fruit!

Her coy tongue enraptured me
and I no longer had control
of my naked body .
